Education and Experience

George Phipps is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of working experience in both private and non-profit organizations. After completing a Masters Degree in Leadership at Royal Roads University in 2008, George decided to change the direction of his career. In 2009 he embarked on and completed his professional coach training through the International Coaches Federation and became a certified project manager (PMP). This allowed George to enter the world of Human Resources consulting in the areas of Organizational Development and Training.

During his career George has held various consulting, project management, technical support, and senior management positions. George has extensive experience in many different industries including banking, education, transportation, oil, research, insurance, high tech, and healthcare. More specifically his experience includes coaching, project management, facilitation, program development, strategy planning, conflict resolution, and team building.

Personal Values

George was born and educated in Scotland, moved to South Africa in 1983, and then to Canada in 1997. His background in Information Technology along with his education and experience in coaching and training has afforded him many diverse achievements. He completed his Master’s thesis on “How mentorship can support emerging leaders”. He has developed various programs including a facilitated mentorship program for Vancouver Coastal Health, a career laddering and succession planning program for Allied Health, and a career pathing program including several workshops and training modules for the University of British Columbia. His passion lies in expanding human potential.
